Junior teams are selected by the Team Manager, Team Coach and Junior Coordinator.
Senior teams are selected by the Senior Selection Sub Committee.

Following the election of Officers at the AGM, the group met tonight to discuss organisation for the year ahead and appoint Coordinators:
Senior County Coordinator - TBA
Junior Section Coordinator - Alan Adkins
Masters Coordinator - Trevor Rogers
Essex League Secretary - Matt Lawrence
Tournaments Coordinator - Nisha Jacob (Junior events)
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd July, starting 8pm

I will be stepping down from my role as League Secretary at the end of this season, and Badminton Essex is now looking for a successor.
The role is central to keeping the league running smoothly, and it’s a great way to contribute to the badminton community in Essex!

I had a great day at the All England last Saturday receiving the "English Badminton Award" - "For long standing exceptional service to badminton in England".
I was a great honour to receive the award from Derek Batchelor, Nathan and Gail.

I am pleased to announce that Kelvin Koon has joined the ECBA committee in the role of Senior County Championship Coordinator.
We are looking to appoint a volunteer to the role of Tournaments Coordinator. The role has the following responsibilities;
This role should only take 1 hour a month but requires attention each month to ensure we get bookings at Redbridge (and/or other venues) and follow the Badminton England tournament sanction cycle.
The holder of this position will need to report to the full committee but it is not essential they join meetings.
UPDATE: Ravi Patel has agreed to join the committee to take on this role
The Essex County Badminton Association AGM will be held on 24th July 2024.
After 8 years in post, Simon Gilhooly has announced he will step down as Chair, so we are looking for a replacement. Please contact Simon (simon@badminton@essex.co.uk) or any of the ECBA committee members for more information.
Responsibilities of the Chairperson include;
Simon will continue to serve on the Essex Committee as Treasurer.
Simon has agreed to serve for one more season.
Officers are elected at the AGM and are responsible for running the Association.
